A man has denied attempted murder after being accused of stabbing someone in a car.

Ilir Deskaj, 38, of Frencham Close in Canterbury, is accused of trying to kill Avni Krasniqi on April 30.

Mr Krasniqi, who is in his 40s, was rushed to hospital after he was stabbed in a car in Hever Place at 11pm.

Deskaj also pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent and possession of a kitchen knife today, in a pre-trial review hearing at Canterbury Crown Court.

Judge James O’Mahoney remanded Deskaj in custody and fixed a trial date for October 14 at the same court.

The 20-year-old, represented by Paul Jackson, was released on bail to attend a sentencing hearing later this year.
