Canterbury: man dies in Ethelbert Road

A man has collapsed and died in a street after suffering a medical episode.

Emergency services were called to Ethelbert Road yesterday afternoon at 1.30pm.

Police cordoned off the road as ambulance crews arrived near the Kent & Canterbury Hospital.

The incident happened in Ethelbert Road (2963992)

Police confirmed: "Officers were called to Ethelbert Road where paramedics were treating a man in his 50s who had suffered a medical episode.

“The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious and a report has been compiled for the coroner. Next of kin are aware.”

The road had re-opened by 3pm.
