Kent and Canterbury Hospital

The man who died after falling out of a top floor window at Kent and Canterbury Hospital has been identified as Clive Francis.

Emergency services were called to the 1937 building at 9am on Monday where they found the 35-year-old.

Mr Francis, a former Vernon Holme and Kent College pupil, who lived in Shaftesbury Road, St Stephen’s, Canterbury, had been unwell following surgery to remove a tumour from his head and was readmitted to hospital on Sunday.

Mr Francis taught English to foreign students for Stafford House, in New Dover Road.

The incident was seen by witnesses and police say they are not looking for anyone in connection with it.

Mr Francis was treated for his injuries, but pronounced dead at 3.30pm on Monday.

The coroner has been informed.
