A drug dealer who was caught selling heroin and cocaine in a children's play area has been jailed.

Junior Dunn, 25, of no fixed address, was arrested after being seen dealing drugs to known users in Toddlers Cove in Canterbury on November 14, 2017.

He was then stopped and search by officers in Church Lane, who found a small amount of herbal cannabis, two mobiles phones and £250 in cash.

A further search at Canterbury Police Station revealed Dunn had also been concealing a package on his person containing 22 small cellophane drugs wraps, half of which contained heroin and the other half cocaine.

He pleaded guilty to possessing the class A drugs with intent to supply and possessing cannabis at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, January 14 and was sentenced to three years in prison by Judge Simon James.

Inspector Lee Thompson of the Canterbury Community Safety Unit said: "Dunn was seen dealing heroin and cocaine in plain sight in a children's play area in the middle of the day.

"Kent Police takes the supply of illegal drugs in our communities seriously and will continue to take proactive action to disrupt people who are involved in the supply of illegal drugs in the county.

"I hope this three-year sentence will serve as a reminder that the courts take drug dealing just as seriously as we do."
