Man shoved to ground and robbed at Sainsbury’s cash machine in Kingsmead Road, Canterbury

A man using a cash machine was shoved to the ground by two thugs who attempted to use his bank card to withdraw money.

Police are investigating the robbery which happened as the man used the ATM outside Sainsbury’s in Kingsmead Road, Canterbury.

A spokesman for the Kent force says two people pushed the victim out of the way and attempted to use his bank card to withdraw money shortly after 11pm on Friday, October 13.

“The attempt failed but the suspects, who are both described as male, about 5ft 5ins tall and were wearing hooded tops, left the scene with the card,” he said.

“An investigation into the incident is ongoing and police believe a number of people were in the area who have yet to speak to officers.”
