Mixed fortunes for Canterbury Hockey Club as ladies win but men lose again

Canterbury Ladies produced their result of the season so far in the England Hockey League Women's Premier Division with a 1-0 victory at reigning champions and morning leaders Leicester on Saturday.

Hayley Brown scored the 48th minute winner that pushes Canterbury into second place in the table, a point behind leaders Slough. Leicester slip to third.

Canterbury men stay bottom of the Men's Premier Division after a 4-2 home defeat against Surbiton at Polo Farm on Sunday.

They trailed 2-1 at half-time, after Michael Farrer had pulled one back a minute before the break.

Surbiton went 3-1 up, before Tom Butt got Canterbury's second after 58 minutes. The visitors added their fourth seven minutes before the end, condemning Canterbury to a fifth loss of the season.
