A forensic artist has created an image of a mystery man found dead in a field more than two months ago.

Detectives struggling to identify his body have today released this striking picture in the hope someone recognises him.

The shock discovery of his body was made by a dog walker on the morning of February 3 in a field off Hollow Lane, Wincheap, near the A2 crossover.

A post-mortem examination revealed the man died of natural causes.

Enquiries have been carried out to check he has not been reported missing elsewhere in the UK.

When his body was found, the man had on him a small black suitcase, an unregistered Oyster card and a book on clinical theology.

No identification was found and his fingerprints were not on file.

DS Gary Stamp said: "We would like to thank everyone who has been in touch with information about this case already.

"A forensic artist has digitally re-constructed how the man might have looked when alive and we are hoping that this detailed image might be recognisable to those who knew him."

The man is described as white and in his mid 50s to late 60s. He had short white hair and a short white beard.

He was of a slim to skinny build and was between 5ft 5in and 5ft 6in.
