A luxury desserts restaurant is set to launch its first branch in Kent next month at a £115 million leisure complex.

Multi-national firm Heavenly Desserts has announced it will be opening at the Riverside development in Canterbury on Friday, December 9.

A Google listing for the new branch reveals the launch date for the company at the Kingsmead Road site.

It states: "Creating memories since 2008 through the love of delectable desserts.

"Our award-winning and artisan desserts, refined interiors and exceptional service offer a luxury dessert dining experience like no other.

"Indulge in our extensive range of luxury desserts and discover a new taste sensation through our latest seasonal creations or enjoy your favourite Heavenly classic dessert dish."

Heavenly Desserts has also launched an Uber Eats page for the Canterbury site, meaning it is set to be available for delivery and pick-up.

Among the sweet treats on offer on its festive menu are a salted caramel popcorn cheesecake, a chocolate snowball pot and Biscoff S’Mores white hot chocolate.

Also on the menu are a range of "croffles", which are described as "delicately baked until light and crispy, giving you the flakiness of a fresh croissant with the classic markings of our American waffles".

The company has more than 40 branches across the UK, and is managed by Mohammad Imran and Yousif Aslam.

There are five Heavenly Desserts located in London - but this will be the first in Kent.

It comes after it was revealed Korean Cowgirl will also be opening at the Riverside development before Christmas.

The restaurant announced its new location will start serving guests on Monday, December 19.

Bosses at the Korean Cowgirl say they were forced to shut its popular Palace Street branch in August because of an administration issue with its premises licence.

The Asian-Texan fusion restaurant had become a popular establishment over the past six years, earning itself a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on TripAdvisor.

But due to an “innocent clerical error”, the establishment lost its licence to serve alcohol.

Restaurant bosses said they felt they had no choice but to close with immediate effect.

Korean Cowgirl currently has two other locations - one at the Cave Hotel near Faversham and another in Camden.

Heavenly Desserts will be joining several other establishments at Riverside, including the upmarket bar and restaurant Sekkoya.

A five-screen Curzon cinema has already launched at the city council development, and a licence has been granted for a BrewDog bar.

Plans for a Boom Battle Bar offering bowling, axe-throwing and table tennis in one of the 13 units have also been revealed.

Fireaway Pizza is also coming to Riverside.
