Anti-terror bollards in Canterbury have impaled yet another hapless motorist.

A DPD delivery van failed to adhere to the city's defence system in Rose Lane as it made its way into the Whitefriars shopping complex.

The vehicle was propped up in the air by the pop-up posts outside Tesco Express on Thursday.

It is one of dozens to have gotten stuck on the bollards dotted around the city.

The Peugeot suffered damage to its undercarriage and front bumper due to the impact.

Pictures on social media show how the van, which was later parked up in Rose Lane after being removed from the bollards, was slapped with a parking fine.

The anti-terror security system was introduced almost two years ago at a cost of £789,000 following advice to the city council from anti-terror experts.

Statistics revealed by KentOnline earlier this year showed how 79 vehicles were sprung by the posts in the first 18 months of the scheme.
