Whitstable Town boss Peter Nott met chairman Joe Brownett this week to start planning for next season.

Budgets and possible player targets were both discussed and while no figures have been confirmed, Nott is ready to begin talks with the players he wants to keep at Belmont, plus "four or five" new faces he wants to bring to the club.

He said: "It was a good meeting and encouraging. Joe and I have the same ambitions for the club.

"We were pleased with the progress made during the season but this is the busiest time of the year and the hard work starts now."

Nott (pictured) confirmed that one or two players have already received "attractive offers" from other clubs, since the season ended last month and top scorer Ian Pulman is sure to be one of them.

The 28-goal marksman took his tally for the club to 71 in 134 games, since making his debut in December 2007 and during the season turned down approaches from Thamesmead and Faversham.

Nott added: "Pully will be a target for a lot of clubs but has showed his loyalty to Whitstable and is one of the players we will sit down with and see what he is doing."
