Officers attended the depot in St George's Lane at 5.30pm and searched a man but no weapon was found.

Police spokesman Jon Green said: "Someone called Kent Police around 5.30 on Thursday to say he believed a man was on the bus with a knife and had stolen money.

"Police arrived and spoke to a number of people.

"It appeared to be a dispute between a teenage male and some school pupils with lots of accusations and counter-accusations being made.

"One male was searched, no knife was found and no allegations were made and therefore no one was arrested."
