Police probe after ‘large black dog’ bites woman near Canterbury

An investigation has been launched after a woman was reportedly bitten on the leg by a “large black dog” while waiting at a level crossing.

The incident happened in Sturry, near Canterbury just after 8.25am on May 9.

It is understood that she suffered an injury to the top of her leg.

Two women in their 40s were thought to be walking the animal, which was possibly a German shepherd.

One of them was reportedly wearing a pink coat.

A police spokesman added: “Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage which might assist is urged to call 01843 222289, quoting 46/76579/24.”
