A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out today on human bones found in woodland.

The skeletal remains were discovered by a member of the public at Kemberland Wood near Canterbury.

Police have been carrying out forensic tests at the scene - just off the A291 outside Sturry - for DNA, blood and signs of a disturbance.

Police are said to be still unsure of the body's gender and are treating the find as "unexplained".

Forensic teams were at the private woods, around three acres of which was taped off, on Friday after the grim discovery the previous day.
