A road was shut off after a lorry and a double-decker bus collided as they attempted to pass each other.

The two vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when they got stuck on the A260 Canterbury Road between Denton Lane and Agester Lane.

The number 16 Stagegoach was heading towards the A2 when the incident occurred approximately 100 yards from the Jackdaw Inn pub.

The route was temporarily shut in the northbound direction as emergency services attended the incident near Denton, but reopened in both directions shortly before 6.30pm.

Police have been contacted for more information.
