Canterbury: Police link Shalmsford Street post office robbery with Coral bookmakers theft in Wincheap

A robber who threatened staff in a bookmakers has struck again this morning at a post office, police say.

A post office worker in Shalmsford Street, Chartham was threatened with a knife when a man stole cash.

Officers are now linking the robbery, which happened at 10.30am, with a theft at a Coral bookmakers in Wincheap, Canterbury last night.

The robbery happened at 10.30am.

The suspect is described as being approximately 6ft 2in tall with a slim build and a ginger beard.

He was seen escaping on a motorbike in the direction of the A28 Canterbury Road.

No injures were reported from both incidents and officers would like to hear from anyone who believes they have information.

Anyone with information is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 01-1057 for the theft and 02-0369 for the robbery.
