Passersby have smashed the window of an overturned car to pull the driver to safety this morning.

The white Skoda Octavia flipped just off the A2 at Woolage Green at 8.45am, leaving a man trapped inside.

Emergency crews were called, but the driver was out of the car and sitting on a grass verge when they arrived.

He has reportedly suffered hip pain and is being treated by paramedics.

Fire crews were called to the scene to deal with a fuel spillage on the road.

Police have closed the A2 slip-road at Woolage Green – between Canterbury and Dover - while the clean-up takes place.

The car is reported to have suffered extensive damage.
