A Canterbury and Herne Bay street trader has had his business threatened after thieves stole a trailer from outside his Whitstable home.

Brian Thompson is a licensed street trader and works unlocking mobile phones in Canterbury High Street during the week and at Herne Bay market on Saturday.

But in the early hours of Sunday morning the unusual Ifor Wiliams trailer that he trades from was taken from his drive way in Colewood Road.

Inside the trailer were two computers, mobiles, phone chargers and covers and specialist equipment used to unlock phones.

The estimated value of the contents is £10,000 and the trailer will cost £2,000 to replace.

The trailer was taken between 1.15am and 2.40am and is green, similar in size to a van and has Mobile Unlocking King written in red on the back doors.

It has a registration plate of GJ09 HVX on the back and its chassis number is 290226.

Brian’s partner Elizabeth Elliot said: “The business has been going for ten years and obviously during that time you build up the specialist equipment and software so losing that is very upsetting.

“The trailer is also unusual and they are very hard to get hold of – there are only a few available in the whole of the country.”
