Two men were punched and a woman assaulted in a suspected racially aggravated incident in Canterbury city centre.

Officers were called just before 1am on Saturday, November 24, to reports that two men had been punched and one of them verbally abused in Palace Street.

A woman was also assaulted during the incident.

PC Hannah Ashman says officers understand the assaults followed a disturbance outside a pub in Orange Street, which continued down the road until the suspect reached Palace Street.

"He is reported to have been verbally abusive before carrying out the assaults near to the junction with Sun Street," she said.

"We are carrying out enquiries into these reports and reviewing CCTV."

The suspect is described as a white man, between 5ft 7in and 5ft 11in tall, with dark hair and possibly in his late teens to mid-twenties. He was seen wearing dark jeans and a dark top.
