At 10.20am, other parts of the county remained sunny – but the storm was moving fast, with a loud peal of thunder also heard in Faversham.

Although the Met Office has yellow weather warnings in place today, none of them cover Kent.

In Canterbury, the storm already appeared to have passed by 10.30am, though the skies remained overcast.

Sevenoaks was hit by a brief downpour this afternoon.
