Woman dies on Stagecoach bus in Military Road, Canterbury

A woman has sadly died after collapsing on a bus.

Police and paramedics were called to the Stagecoach service in St George’s Street, Canterbury.

The incident took place on a bus in Canterbury yesterday

Efforts were made to revive her but she tragically died at the scene yesterday morning.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "I can confirm that we were called to St George’s Street, Canterbury at approximately 10am yesterday morning to reports a person had collapsed on a bus.

"Ambulance crews attended but the person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene."

The incident led to all buses from Canterbury bus station being diverted via Military Road roundabout to get back on route.

There were delays along Upper and Lower Bridge Street but was cleared at about 12pm.

Delays were expected on services departing Canterbury until about 1pm.
