Cable ripped from train line near Canterbury causing Southeastern delays between Sturry and Minster

Trains are delayed after thieves ripped out 250 metres of cable from the line.

High speed services between Sturry and Minster are running at slower speeds as a result.

Cable has been ripped out of the gutter line

The telecoms cable has been stolen from the gutter line which runs to the side of the railway tracks in Chislet.

Engineers are on site installing new cable.

Services are set to continue to run at reduced speeds until the issue is resolved.

Trains are running at speeds of 50mph.

The theft happened between Port Farm and Grove Ferry.
