Vegetation fire breaks out near Staines Hill, in Sturry, near Canterbury

Home owners were warned to keep their windows closed after an arson attack on grass land.
The fire started last night at 10pm in Sturry, near Canterbury.
Three fire engines were sent to the scene and crews used a main jet and water from a hydrant to tackle the blaze involving grass and conifer trees.
As a result, people living in the area surrounding Staines Hill were warned to keep their windows and doors closed due to the smoke coming from the area of vegetation.
No one was injured and the cause is believed to be suspicious.
