A man has been left with a chipped tooth after he was pounced upon by a gang when he walked through public gardens at night.

The 18-year-old, who was making his way through the Dane John Gardens in Canterbury, was hit with a belt and punched.

The Friday night assault, which left the victim with cuts and a chipped tooth, is just one of many to blight the troubled city park.

The Dane John is a hotspot for crime

Between six and eight teenagers were part of the verbally abusive gang to approach the group. Another victim was threatened with violence but not assaulted.
