A woman has been taken to hospital after she was hit by a car.

Emergency services were called to Thanington Road, Canterbury following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

An air ambulance was spotted landing nearby shortly before 10.30am today and the road was closed following the crash.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to Thanington Road, Canterbury following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

“The female pedestrian has been taken to hospital for treatment for her injuries.

“The road will be re-opened shortly.”
