Women attacked during Canterbury mugging off Farleigh Road

Two young women were attacked during a violent attempted robbery along a city footpath.

The pair – aged in their 20s – were assaulted after being approached by three teenage boys in Bird Cage Walk, off Farleigh Road in Canterbury.

One of the group is said to have asked them for cash before attacking them when told they had no money.

He then walked off with the two other boys towards Hales Drive.

Both women suffered minor cuts and bruising to their heads.

Police have since released an e-fit of the suspect, who is described as mixed race, 5ft 6ins tall and aged about 16.

He had an afro hairstyle, a black tracksuit and a local accent.

Anyone with information about the attempted mugging at 11.50pm on Thursday, February 11, should call police on 01843 222289, quoting ZY/4712/16.
