Appeal after cyclist is punched in face

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenage pedal cyclist was assaulted on a cycle path beside a park area in Falala Way, off Craddock Road, Canterbury.

The incident happened at about 3.45pm on Friday, May 25.

The 17-year-old victim, from Sturry, saw a man with two others on bikes and after he rode past them the man on foot chased him and punched him in the face, cutting his eyebrow.

A woman in the park shouted at the offender, telling him to stop but police believe there may have been others who saw the assault.

The man who punched the cyclist is described as black, aged 17 to 24, 5ft 8ins tall, and of stocky build. He was wearing a blue sleeveless vest. The two on bikes were white and of a similar age.
