The family of a 'mystery' man who collapsed in Canterbury and ended up fighting for his life in hospital have come forward after a police appeal.

Relatives are said to be holding a bedside vigil in King's College Hospital, after being reunited with the 49-year-old.

It comes after police callled for help to trace anyone who knew the man.

He was said to be wearing a motorbike jacket and boots when he collapsed against a wall in Longmeadow Way on Monday.

He was in a critical condition when police made the appeal yesterday.

In a statement issued today, police said the man's next of kin had been informed and were at his bedside, where he remains critically ill.

The man is said to have moved to Canterbury earlier this month from London.
