Metal-detecting archways were used by police looking for knives and other weapons at Canterbury’s two train stations on Friday night.
There were two arrests from the 136 people who passed through them, one for possession of cocaine, resulting in a charge, and the other for ketamine possession and criminal damage, resulting in a caution.
Officers found discarded knives at both stations, while a substance, believed to be crack cocaine was found in a toilet at Canterbury West.
Alcohol was also seized and disposed of, while advice was given to a man found urinating in a public place.
Later in the evening, an Ion Track detector, where skin swabs are taken to detect traces of drugs on hands and fingers, was used at city centre pubs Scribes, the Three Tuns and Studio 41.
Two people were arrested for cannabis possession and another for cocaine possession.
A total of 97 poeple were swabbed.
