Canterbury assault investigation launched after two men spotted fighting in Westgate Gardens

An assault investigation has been launched after two men were spotted fighting in a popular park.

The pair were seen brawling during in Westgate Gardens, Canterbury, which then spilled onto a nearby footbridge.

A 36-year-old man from the city was arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened.

The incident happened shortly after 6.30pm on Friday, August 26.

It is understood both of the men have been spoken to and there were no serious injuries.

The footbridge where the men were seen fighting on is next to Tower House and leads to Whitehall Road.
