A man has been charged with attempted murder after a young woman was stabbed in an early morning attack.
Police were called to a semi-detached house in River View, Sturry, at about 1.25am on Monday, September 21, after receiving reports of a disturbance.
Officers attended along with paramedics and the woman was taken to a London hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.
The street in the Canterbury village was cordoned off at either end on Monday as forensics teams went in and out of the property.
Police have confirmed that River View resident Reid Gawler has since been charged with attempted murder.
The 22-year-old will appear before Medway magistrates tomorrow.
