A bakery chain is opening its second shop in Canterbury in the space of four weeks.
Warrens Bakery - which claims to be the oldest Cornish pasty-maker in the world - opened its first Canterbury branch in the site of the former NatWest bank in St Dunstan's on December 18.
Today, the Cornwall-based chain is opening its second city shop in the Buttermarket, which previously housed Nauticalia, and Hawkin's Bazaar.
The branch opens at 10am today, and will create eight jobs.
Franchise operations manager Carl Mortimer said: "We are delighted to be opening our second Warrens Bakery in Canterbury as we extend our portfolio of stores across Kent and the rest of the UK. Slawomir and his team have worked around the clock to deliver a fantastic store which we are sure will be a fitting addition to the landscape of the historic city of Canterbury.”
In this Thursday's Kentish Gazette, you can find an exclusive two-for-one pasties offer, redeemable at Warrens Bakery's new stores.
The shop will sell pasties, breads, cakes, sandwiches and hot and cold drinks. It will offer a takeaway service, and will also have an indoor seating area for customers.
