Killer zombies lurched through a Kent city in search of brains - and moisturiser.
Following the success of similar events a 'zombie walk' was organised, with the idea of gathering as many people together as possible, all dressed as one of the undead.
Set up on social networking site Facebook, more than 600 people had pledged to take part.
But when the zombies gathered in the Dane John Gardens at noon, the final figure was closer to 50.
Nonetheless, the flesh-hungry faction had the desired effect and inspired a mix of fear and confusion among Canterbury shoppers as they staggered through the streets.
Zombie fan Greg Moore said: “I got there a little bit late and the group had already moved on, so I had to stop people on the high street and say 'Excuse me, have you seen any zombies around here?’
"After I found them, we went to Fenwick and back through the Dane John Gardens and said hello to the PCSO there.”
The walkers then made their way to Whitefriars to see how many zombies they could fit into a lift and called in at the Body Shop.
“We needed something for all the dry, flaky skin!” said Greg.
Another zombie walk is planned, with participants aiming to collect money along the way for the £50m Save Canterbury Cathedral Appeal.
