Bike rider killed in crash

An 18-year-old man has died after his motorbike was involved in a collision with two cars on the Whitstable Road at Blean near Canterbury.

The tragedy happened at about 4.20pm on Tuesday near the Hare and Hounds public house.

The victim's Suzuki 650cc motorcycle collided a Ford Mondeo and a Citroen C3. Police say the rider lived locally.

There are no reports that anyone else was injured during the collision.

The road was closed until 9.40pm to allow the police Crash Investigation Unit to undertake their enquiries and for vehicle recovery.

Any witnesses who could assist the police are asked to call Sgt Robert Smith at the Serious Crash Investigation Unit on 01622 600970.

* In a separate accident, four people were injured, one seriously, in a two-car crash near the Black Lion leisure centre at Gillingham.
