The roof of a garage collapsed after a fire ripped through the building in the early hours of the morning.
The blaze broke out at the property in Blean Hill, Canterbury at 1.54am on Thursday.
There was structural damage to a beam holding up the roof of the garage, which crumbled under the heat. Everything inside was destroyed.
Crackling flames were heard by the owners of the attached house before their smoke alarms sounded. They managed to escape and get their children out of the property unhurt.
Smoke filled the home and there was damage to windows, doors and the porch area.
Engineers from UK Power Networks were called to turn off the electricity as a live cable was left exposed.
It took three crews several hours to put out the fire, and they left the home at 4.30am.
