Woman sought after Marks and Spencer in Canterbury targeted with alcohol thefts

A city centre shop has been hit by a spate of shoplifting incidents leading police to launch an investigation to track down the suspect.

The spree has specifically targeted the alcoholic beverage section of Marks and Spencer in Canterbury where seven incidents have taken place in recent weeks.

The latest was reported on Thursday and officers have now released a picture of a woman they want to question.

The offences carried out at the St George's Street store are believed to have been carried out by the same person.

Police spokeswoman Jo Pattison said: "An image is now being released of a woman who may have important information. If you recognise her please call the east Kent appeals line on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/42476/20.
