A 19-year-old man was hit by a car near Waitrose in Canterbury this afternoon.
Police closed New Dover Road after they were called at 1.30pm.
The teenager is thought to have been thrown across the top of the car on impact, but was not seriously hurt.
Two ambulances rushed to the scene and the man was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with cuts and bruises.
The busy city centre street was shut for about an hour while emergency crews dealt with the incident.
Traffic was gridlocked in New Dover Road and Longport, but is now starting to ease.
