Boy remains critical after accident

A 10-year-old boy remains in a serious but stable condition after he was knocked off his bike when he collided with a truck on Sturry Road, Canterbury, on Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened at 4.10pm at the junction with Reed Avenue.

The boy was taken to the QEQM hospital in Margate before being transferred to a London hospital.

The road was closed for five hours while crash investigators examined the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information can call 01622 798538.
