Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash which left a man in his 20s with serious injuries.
The A290 was shut at Clapham Hill/Pean Hill close to Pye Alley Lane between Whitstable and Canterbury.
Police were called at 5.10am and shut the road for more than five hours after a red Ford Fiesta careered into a field.
The driver, a man in his 20s, suffered serious injuries in the incident and was taken to a London hospital.
It is not believed that any other vehicle was involved.
Bus operator Stagecoach said their Triangle and number 36 services were unable to serve the area between the Long Reach pub in Whitstable and Rough Common during the closure.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and urge anyone with information to get in touch.
