Shoppers will face disruption as a busy Tesco is set to close for several weeks amid a major refurbishment.
The large Express branch in Canterbury Whitefriars will close this Thursday and reopen on March 8 as bosses make a raft of changes designed to “improve the shopping experience of customers”.
A Tesco spokesman said: “The store is having a refit to improve the shopping experience for customers.
“This will include new fridges being installed, a refurbishment of the in-store bakery and a refresh of the outside signage.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure and look forward to welcoming customers back to the store when it re-opens in March.”
The nearest Tesco store is in New Dover Road, Canterbury, below Premier Inn.
It comes as the Margate branch in Northdown Road was recently shut for a similar project, with the first phase of work starting on January 19.
Between January 29 and February 18, a temporary set-up, offering essentials, will operate at the front of the store, while the back will be blocked off.
The site will then be fully closed again between February 19 and 28.
