A Canterbury taxi firm is offering chauffeur-driven tours – to catch Pokemon!

Bosses at CabLine hope to turn the worldwide craze into a moneyspinner by ferrying fans of the game on hunts across the city.

The popular app sees people using the GPS on their phone to track and ‘capture’ the animated creatures.

CabLine driver Jet Welch pitched the Pokemon Go chauffeur service to director Altin Jasaj and has already attracted widespread interest.

Jet, 33, of Military Road, said: “A friend of mine suggested it and I thought it was a great idea.

“I’ve been playing the game myself and love how it encourages people to get off their sofas and out of the house.

“Not everyone has transport, and others have mobility problems, so hopefully we can help them still play the game and not miss out on catching whatever Pokemon they want.”

Passengers can guide Jet on a journey of their choice or take one of her pre-designated routes.

She hopes to install free wi-fi in her Seat Toledo and a multi-charging phone point to ensure batteries last the distance.

Altin – who runs the 40-car firm from his home in St Nicholas Road – said: “When Jet came to us with the idea we thought it was great.

“She will do the tours to begin with, as she knows the game, and if it catches on we’ll get more drivers involved.”
