Canterbury Hockey Club's men's team were pushed a step closer to relegation after losing 5-2 against Cannock in the England Hockey League Premier Division at Polo Farm on Sunday.

They came from behind to lead 2-1 at half-time, only to concede four second half goals.

David Harris fired the visitors in front just two minutes in, but Matthew Botha converted a penalty corner to put Canterbury level soon afterwards.

Mickel Pierre got their second in the same fashion 12 minutes before half-time, but it was all one-way traffic in the second-half as Richard Lane grabbed a hat-trick, with Harris adding his second six minutes from the end.

Natasha Brennan and Lucy Hyams both scored twice as EuroCanterbury Ladies won 4-0 at Cannock on Saturday.

But they now trail Women's Premier Division leaders Leicester by four points after the East Midlands club won twice at the weekend.

Brennan put them in front at half-time, and doubled the lead soon after the restart, with Hyams adding two more in the space of seven minutes to complete a comfortable win.

Finishing runners-up will ensure their a home game in the play-off semi-finals.
