Hockey star Natalie Seymour will be hoping to turn bronze into gold when she travels to India for the Commonwealth Games.
Seymour (pictured) was part of the England women's team which beat Germany to win a bronze in the World Cup in Rosario, Argentina, on Saturday.
Now she hopes to finish two places higher on the rostrum when the action switches to Delhi next month.
The 23-year--old defender, who plays for Canterbury Ladies, described her experience in Argentina as "incredible" and says the team's performance in finishing third has given them confidence.
England had drawn 1-1 with The Netherlands in the semi-finals only to lose 4-3 in a penalty shootout.
Seymour said: “It was an incredible experience in an amazing place and it was fantastic to be part of such a successful team.
"We set goals before the tournament and going in we believed we could do well. We said fifth would be a solid result for us but we felt we could reach the semi-finals.
“Having got through we obviously wanted to win the gold medal but in the end to have won a World Cup medal and made history is a phenomenal achievement.”
Seymour admitted she had 'barely got time to unpack, wash my kit and pack another bag’ before jetting out to Delhi for the Commonwealth Games in two weeks.
She said: “We know a lot of teams will be out to beat us and Australia, New Zealand and India will be there, but we are going in wanting to win gold.”
