Canterbury in TV nature slot

CANTERBURY is one of the stars of new series examining the beauty and power of nature in the UK.

The BBC One series The Nature of Britain, presented by Alan Titchmarsh, explores the diversity of wildlife across the country, using the latest in filming technology to capture sites such as killer whales hunting seals, the underwater courtship behaviour of the pike, and honey buzzards raiding wasps’ nests.

At the end of each show, regional viewers are given their own tips on where to find outstanding local wildlife and what they can do to help preserve the natural world where they live in a ten minute slot, with BBC South East’s Kaddy Lee-Preston presenting Kent’s contribution.

Yesterday, a fence building project with the Kentish Stour Countryside project in Canterbury was featured on the show, and the Stodmarsh Nature Reserve will appear in the programme on October 31.
