Canterbury Ladies made an encouraging start to the England Hockey League Indoor Premier Division campaign with three wins from their four games over the weekend.

They began with a 9-4 defeat to Leicester on Saturday but followed it up with a 3-2 win over Ipswich the same day.

On Sunday beat Clifton 6-2 and Chelmsford 5-2 to move third, behind Leicester on goal-difference.

Canterbury face leaders Slough - who have won all four games - in their next game on January 9.
