Canterbury top the National League 3 London & South East table after a 32-10 victory at Tonbridge Juddians.
The visitors scored five tries, the first after City old boy Pat Sykes conceded a penalty and powerful driving allowed Matt Pinnick to touch down.
Tom Best’s penalty pushed Canterbury further ahead, and although the hosts scored their own kick, TJs’ fragile discipline was punished with a penalty try, converted by Best.
Another irresistible driving maul ended in at try for flanker George Micans to put Canterbury 17 points ahead and a fourth try, which earned a bonus point and closed out the game, came when TJs kicked poorly out of defence, Canterbury retrieved and moved the ball wide to Matthew Robinson who raced clear on the overlap.
Best added the goal points and although a rare missed tackle allowed Tonbridge their single try, the city club responded with an unstoppable catch and drive tactic finished well by Micans.
