Canterbury men remain level on points at the top of the EHL Men’s Conference East after beating Indian Gymkhana 3-1 on Sunday.
Goal difference leaves Canterbury trailing Old Loughtonians by just a single goal.
Kwan Browne (pictured) opened the scoring against Gymkhana, with his sixth penalty corner conversion of the season, after just eight minutes.
Ross Gilham-Jones put Canterbury 2-0 up just seven minutes later but the hosts pulled a goal back almost immediately.
The goals dried up after the opening 15 minutes and it wasn’t until the hour mark that Canterbury were able to add their third and seal the points when Andrew Sutherland scored.
Canterbury Women lost 3-2 at Polo Farm against Reading despite leading twice in the match.
Susie Rowe gave Canterbury a fourth minute lead in the EHL Women’s Premier Division match but Reading levelled moments later.
Natasha Brennan put Canterbury back in-front after 24 minutes but again Reading equalised, this time just after the interval.
Reading scored a penalty corner midway through the second half to take the points.
The defeat leaves Canterbury sixth in the table.
