Trailing 15-8 at CS Rugby 1863 at half-time, Canterbury recovered to win 37-20 on Saturday and so record their 13th straight victory at the top of National League 3 London & South East.
The Civil Service side capitalised on the city club's frequent mistakes in the first half to score two tries through Cameron Reed and Ross Yiend, plus a Scott Hadden penalty and conversion.
Canterbury could only manage a Juan Del Val try and Martyn Beaumont penalty in reply, but the second half was a different story.
Within four minutes of the restart the Canterbury backs moved the ball wide and space was created for right wing Ricky Mackintosh to score. Beaumont's conversion brought the scores level and the city club's faith was restored.
Civil Service were suddenly in retreat and Canterbury went in front when No.8 Wim Baars kicked deep for Beaumont to win a long chase to get his fingertips to the ball.
The full-back followed that with a penalty goal and, with Canterbury now in full command, two tries in the last 10 minutes wrapped up a bonus point win. Beaumont got his second, running an inside line to latch on to Dave Marshall's pass, and then a tired home defence could do nothing to stop Mackintosh joining the double act with a powerful surge to the posts.
Beaumont converted both scores to bring his personal haul to 22 points, while Civil Service were consoled by a piece of late brilliance from Yiend who kicked and chased 60 metres to score at the corner.
