Canterbury scored six tries in a 42-15 home win over Bristol side Dings Crusaders in National 2 South on Saturday.
The city club made the best of starts, going ahead with a try from prop Mark Livesey after two minutes.
The sides exchanged penalty goals before a poor option taken by Canterbury resulted in a turnover and try for the visitors.
New fly-half Phil Gibson kicked another penalty for Canterbury and then scored his first try for the club to give the home side a 16-8 half-time lead.
Canterbury scored further tries through Nicky Woodbridge, Carlton Littlechild, Peter Kelly and Rob Keir. Gibson converted three of the tries, with Dings adding just a converted try to their tally.
