Canterbury Rugby Club head coach Danny Vaughan says his side must pick up points from their trip to Taunton on Saturday to keep their survival bid on track.
The city club sit just a point above the relegation zone in National League 2 South and are desperate for a result after their heavy 69-12 defeat to leaders Ealing Trailfinders last Saturday.
With only four games of the season remaining, Vaughan’s side make the long trip to Taunton in Somerset knowing a victory could be priceless in the fight to avoid relegation. In the previous meeting between the sides, Taunton ran out 18-17 winners at Merton Lane on February 26.
Vaughan (pictured) said: "It’s a big game. It is a must-win in some respects and I think we must get at least one or two points if not a victory.
"If we don’t win it could become difficult for us and I’m sure it will come down to the final game of the season against Westcombe Park.
"I hope we can have it all done and dusted before then because there will be so much pressure on the game otherwise. We have four ‘cup finals’ left.
"We only lost to Taunton by a point but I’m sure they will be much tougher at home and it won’t be easy for us as we have a four-and-a-half hour trip down there."
With prop Jimmy Stanford unavailable at the weekend, Tom McArthur is expected to join the bench replacements and there will be a fitness check on Gert de Kock, who is being treated for a hamstring strain.
With Alex Veale ruled out with an elbow problem, de Kock is expected to play at centre. Fly-half Tom Best will make his first start since recovering from surgery on a broken thumb.
