Canterbury made it two wins from two in National Division 2 South with an impressive 29-12 victory at Westcombe Park on Saturday.
Gert De Kock’s try put them in front with Tom Best converting.
The home side kicked a penalty before Canterbury’s Mike Melford went over and, as the pressure built on Park, Ben MicKinnell was sinbinned and Combe quickly felt his loss as Canterbury muscled their way over for third try, scored by flanker Peter Kelly.
Best’s conversion took them 16 points clear but two further Combe penalty kept them in the game.
However, five minutes before the break, Melford went over again to restore order.
Combe kicked a fourth penalty for Combe but Canterbury skipper Chris Hinkins (pictured) settled matters with the fifth try.
